Muzi Phiri is a Visual Artist and a contemporary art painter based in Johannesburg, South Africa, who’s work is a reflection of nature and it’s surroundings, identity and what people experience in their daily life ,victories ,memories and belonging in his works. He uses acrylics mixed media, oil paintings, newspapers, charcoal, oil pastels and chalk pastels to create vibrant, contrast, colour and expressive portraits and figures which portray a certain emotion of people from different cultures and backgrounds. The meaning behind his paintings is to express the identity of belongings, victories, and memories. He wants to show the diversity and complexity of human beings, and to challenge the viewers to question their own assumptions and perspectives. He also wants to inspire them to discover their own creative potential.
